The College of Education sponsored the
Theta Chi Chapter Spring 2009 Initiation
at the Chapel of Memories on the
Mississippi State University campus
March 26, 2009.

The 2009 Chapter Officers, from left, Megan Pope, Kellyn Irvin, Raquel Hollingsworth, Kathryn Herring, Ashley Caldwell, Kara Davis, and Julie Nelson.


Kathryn Herring lights the first candle that represents educating Humanity and symbolizes the faith in the potential of all human beings.

Raquel Hollingsworth lights the second candle representing the ideal of Science as a way of eliminating prejudice and superstition.


Kellyn Irvin prepares to light the third candle representing Service, as they enable learners and communities through education.

Megan Pope finishes lighting the fourth candle representing the fourth ideal, Toil, to which members pledge fidelity.


The 2009 Kappa Delta Pi candidates were asked to stand as they were initiated.


The new KDP initiates were offered a lapel pin to signify their loyalty to the organization.

New KDP initiate Kasey Pee, from Sallis, MS was pinned by her mother, Sherry Pee.


Dr. Linda McGrath recognizes the community educators for their contributions to education.

Guest speaker Dr. Charlotte Tabereaux is very pleased to see her mentor, Dr. Jack Blendinger.
